В течение последних 15 лет моя деятельность в России по продвижению программ профилактики дефицита йода и йодирования соли в значительной мере была связана с Детским фондом ООН (ЮНИСЕФ). С момента открытия своего представительства в Москве в 1997 году ЮНИСЕФ придавал приоритетное значение программе йодирования соли в России и за прошедшие годы инвестировал в нее несколько миллионов долларов. Времена меняются, и вот правительство решило, что свои задачи в России ЮНИСЕФ уже выполнил.
