Табакокурение, электронные сигареты и щитовидная железа: риски развития тиреоидной патологии

Аннотация
Табакокурение — глобальная проблема здравоохранения уже многие годы. Особенно она усугубилась с момента массового производства табачных изделий. Давно не секрет, что табакокурение провоцирует различные заболевания, в том числе эндокринные, и способствует их прогрессированию. В настоящее время известно о роли генетической предрасположенности к развитию тиреоидной патологии и потенциальной роли различных средовых факторов в манифестации заболеваний щитовидной железы (ЩЖ). Наряду с потреблением йода, табакокурение — существенный фактор риска, влияющий на функциональное состояние и объем ЩЖ. С появлением электронных сигарет как альтернативы табачным изделиям возник закономерный вопрос: какое воздействие они оказывают на тиреоидный статус?
Настоящий литературный обзор обобщает современные представления о влиянии курения на ЩЖ, включая его взаимосвязь с изменением функции ЩЖ, развитием и прогрессированием заболеваний ЩЖ.
